Duplex board, or paperboard, is one of the most versatile forms of packaging.
It’s a paper product that has two layers of paper, both with one side glossy and one side uncoated.
Duplex board has all of corrugated’s characteristics—its bendability, its durability—with one important addition: strength. If you’re looking to ship goods that need protection during transit (like dishes or glassware), duplex will prove itself to be better than traditional cardboard every time. In fact, many online retailers are beginning to use duplex because of its increased load-bearing capabilities!
Duplex board may have a few disadvantages, however. First, it’s not as durable as corrugated cardboard—duplex board will bend rather than break when pressure is applied to it. In addition, duplex board won’t keep its shape over time due to its lack of rigidity.
But because it’s used as a secondary layer in boxes that also use corrugated cardboard as a main source of strength, these weaknesses are less critical than they otherwise would be.
Duplex board will bend rather than break when pressure is applied to it, and it won’t keep its shape over time due to its lack of rigidity. For items that need to be shipped via FedEx or UPS, it’s probably the best choice.
100% Recyclable
Duplex board itself is 100% recyclable, meaning that it can be reused to create new paper products after its initial life cycle. This reduces the need for new raw materials and lowers the amount of waste sent to landfills. Recycling duplex board also requires less energy compared to producing new paper from virgin wood pulp, contributing to lower carbon emissions.
One of the most significant environmental benefits of duplex board is that it is often made from recycled paper and cardboard. This contributes to a circular economy by reducing waste and the demand for virgin paper pulp, which in turn minimizes deforestation and habitat destruction.
Advantages of using Duplex Board

- Excellent Printability: The smooth surface allows for high-quality printing, ensuring that colors pop and details are crisp, enhancing brand presentation.
- Cost-effectiveness: Duplex board is an affordable packaging solution that doesn’t compromise on quality, offering superior protection.
- Environmentally Friendly: Made from recycled material and being 100% recyclable itself, duplex board is a sustainable choice for environmentally conscious businesses.
- Versatility in Applications: From food packaging to book covers, duplex board’s adaptability makes it suitable for a wide range of uses.
- Toxix Chemicals and Harmful Chemicals are not used while manufacturing Duplex boards
